New Pokemon Games Announcement!

The Original 3 Pokemon games have been re-released on the Nintendo 3DS handheld console. This franchise is loved by millions and within its 20 year anniversary they announced the release of two new Pokemon games called:

  • Pokemon Sun
  • Pokemon Moon

Pokemon Sun & Moon

These games will follow the graphics and play style of the newer Pokemon games that have also been released for the Nintendo 3DS, These two new Pokemon games are developed by ‘Game Freak’ and will be released late 2016 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Pokemon franchise. More information will be leaked about these games in the upcoming to the release window for these games.

Return of the Originals!

After the announcement of Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon they Re-Released the original 3 Pokemon games on the Nintendo 3DS these titles are:

  • Pokemon Red
  • Pokemon Blue
  • Pokemon Yellow

Pokemon 3DS

There is no graphic enhancement or alterations to these classics games, they are now able to be played on the Nintendo 3DS from purchasing a digital copy from the E-Shop on the Nintendo 3DS Console. On the console they use the ‘Virtual Console’ feature within the 3DS to emulate the original games. The only difference to this release from the original on the ‘GameBoy’ console is the Wi-Fi capabilities to be able to Trade Pokemon and battle other players using the internet and no external cables are needed between two players.

These three classic Pokemon game were released on the 27th February 2016 worldwide, These games were also released in several languages such as:

  • English
  • German
  • French

Pokemon 3ds

These games are perfect for Pokemon fans to relive your childhood and get nostalgia from playing these old classic Pokemon games. The looks, plays and sounds just like it did on the original Gameboy console which came out in February 27, 1996 (Red & Blue) & September 12, 1998 (Yellow).

Each game cost £8.99/$9.99 and you could buy one or buy all three. Everyone would be different has in which of the three is the best but it is all down to preference as some people have only played one of the three and have never tried the others, however the only difference with them all is the starting Pokemon at the beginning of the game. Also in Pokemon Yellow is only game where the Pokemon ‘Pikachu’ is your starter Pokemon and follows behind you in your game.

Pokemon Red

Ultimately, if you have played any of the original three Pokemon games, I would recommend purchasing it, due to its video game nostalgia that brings back great memories from childhood or older memories. If you are a huge Pokemon fan or have only played the newer titles, these original releases brings the franchise back to its core and provides a fun, familiar feeling for the Pokemon games which is still and will always be loved by many.
